MERCEDES DEBUTS THE 2025 EQS WITH REFRESHED EXTERIOR, INTERIOR, AND A LARGER BATTERY PACK

Mercedes started its EV domination with the EQS sedan back in 2021, and has since launched multiple EVs across segments. In fact, some of them were even taken over by AMG under its umbrella for a dose of steroids. Well, three years later, the automaker has decided to give its flagship electric sedan an extensive update.

The German automaker has taken the wraps off the 2025 EQS, and it now comes with a refreshed exterior, more creature comforts inside the cabin, and some changes under the skin as well. While the pricing of the 2025 EQS is not revealed, the automaker did mention that the new model will hit U.S. dealerships later in 2024.

In order to give you the most up-to-date and accurate information possible, the data used to compile this article was sourced from Mercedes.

Subtle, Yet Noticeable Changes On The Outside And Inside

The front fascia receives a new design. The deep black panel grille that connects with the headlights in the current model has been tweaked. You now get a new grille design that now features flush-mounted chrome slats. This provides an interesting contrast with the black surroundings.

The highlight for me is the trademark standing star on the hood that has made its way into the EQS range. This is reminiscent of the ICE Mercedes models, especially the Mercedes of the yore. Rounding up the changes on the outside is the AMG Line bumper that will come as standard.

Inside the cabin, it is evident that Mercedes is trying to make the car more comfortable for rear passengers, indicating a target audience looking for chauffeur-driven cars. You can now fold the front passenger seat forward to give the rear occupants more space. This, however, is only available when you opt for the optional Pinnacle Trim with Executive Interior Package.

As standard, the angle of the rear seat's backrest can be adjusted from 27 to 36 degrees at the touch of a button. Mercedes has also added an additional 0.2 inches of foam to the rear seat backrest. Other features optional features inside the cabin include:

  • Backrest that can be adjusted up to 38 degrees.
  • Rapid heating rear seats.
  • Neck and shoulder heating for rear passengers.
  • Pneumatic adjustment of the rear seat depth.
  • Illuminated trim accents integrated into the back of the front seats.

On the tech front, things seem to remain the same. The 55-inch Hyperscreen comes as standard on the EQS. The OTA updates include the addition of a few things like Dolby Atmos, a YouTube web app, and a digital travel guide.
