This 2024 70/SS Is Matched To A 1970 Chevelle Super Sport

The build documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at Trans Am Worldwide’s three-peat customer and car collector extraordinaire, Brad Pfitzner’s journey to order, help design, and take possession of the innovated 2024 Chevelle 70/SS inspired by his own ’70 Chevelle 454 Super Sport resto-mod.

It is noted that with respect to preserving the original coveted carbureted power plant, the 1970 454 with four-speed transmission was mounted to an engine stand for posterity, prior to the LS swap. Entirely customized, Pfitzner’s Chevelle revival holds the 1,500 horsepower LS6 Twin-Turbo 454 under the hood, with a Chevy Orange painted block.

“The orange was a nod to the old school, traditional Chevelle,” added Warmack.

No-Lift Shift Manual Transmission Paired To The Twin-Turbo 454

With only 25 examples of the 70/SS 454 Chevelle reboot produced, the limited-run specialty-car flexes as a remarkably exclusive vehicle to own. But Pfitzner’s build one-ups the uniqueness as his particular model is mated to a manual transmission.

“Twin-turbos typically have an automatic; a manual is very rare,” explained Warmack. “Loosing boost - turbo lag can be common with a turbo and a manual; so, automatics are used to compensate; but we mitigated that problem with a No-Lift Shift manual. I believe there were only four made.”

Custom Paint Color, Chrome Bumpers, And Exotic Hides Dress The New Chevelle SS

The blue and white classic color combo of Pfitzner’s original Chevy Super Sport was extended to his contemporary car; however, it came to life with a modern twist. “It is a darker blue,” said Warmack. “At a glance, it’s almost a midnight, with a lot of flock.” The blue hue has become known as “Big Brad Blue” nicknamed after Pfitzner himself, and it is set off by the stark white stripes that run the length of the body.

The New Chevelle’s Upscale Leather Interior Hits Different

Trans Am Worldwide custom-crafts all the 70/SS interiors. This particular Chevelle remake was created with leather hides sourced overseas to match one of Pfitzner’s exotic supercars. “The smell of the leather is over the top,” shared Warmack. “The fragrance of it really picks up on the level of the leather that we used.”

An exterior-matching blue stitch accents the two-tone tan and cream leather-clad interior. “We played with the perforated inset on the heating and cooling seat material and found the cream color,” noted Warmack. “The tan leather and blue stitching also wrap around the carbon fiber steering wheel at the 9 and 3 ‘o clock positions."
